Is your interior looking a little tired? Feeling like your bedroom is due a facelift? No matter what you class as your personal style, we’ll give you tips on how to revitalise your bedroom and turn it into a place where you can’t wait to spend a little bit of extra time!
Houzz’s Mitchell Parker wrote an article explaining that the colour of a bedroom could have an effect on how people spent their time in the room. Grey tended to be associated with internet shopping, blue with the most sleep and caramel with… you know the rest. Ok, so they may have carried out a survey, but personally we are just fans of surrounding ourselves with furniture and colours that make us happy – no matter what they mean! So whether you adore bright colour or like muted tones, we hope our tips will help to give you a little bit of inspiration.
Now this bedroom interior could most certainly be called sophisticated. We’d perhaps even compare it to a hotel room, but we figure – what is more luxurious than a stylish hotel room? Vibrant floral prints catch the eye against a grey duvet cover; whilst the copper Artichoke Lamp may not be positioned in the centre of the room but is definitely a centrepiece! So why not play with prints against block colours in your bedroom?
We adore the classic look of this interior. From the black and white prints to the classic fireplace, this room is to die for, and the Arne Jacobsen Egg Chair fits in perfectly. So if you are a fan of traditional interiors then choose brown leather, black and white – or even sepia – photographs and a distressed wooden chest of drawers to bring an authentic look to your room.
Although we wouldn’t necessarily position our Earl Lounge Chair facing our bed, as shown in this image, we do love the idea of having a chair on which we can chill out and relax in our bedrooms. Teamed with the eye-catching trio of spotlights and red accent pieces, this room is bold without being overpowering. So why not choose masculine colours and then add a beautiful splash of colour to bring a feminine touch to the room?
Monochrome is always in style, so if black and white is your thing then experiment with cool wall art and accessories like in this bold room. White walls and a wooden floor are brought to life with simple touches such as prints of playing cards and abstract design.
For people for whom simplicity is the key then this uncluttered and stylish bedroom is ideal. Using muted tones and hidden storage, this space shouts minimalism. Our favourite part of this interior is the bookcase integrated into the bed. What a great storage solution!
Although we sometimes like to relax in sleek and sophisticated surroundings, at others we think that we are at our happiest when we are surrounded by homely touches. Adding a printed cushion to a comfortable chair like the Eero Saarinen Executive Armchair, also gives a cosy feel to the surroundings.
Finally we have the super-stylish nautical inspired bedroom. Themes are perfect for the bedroom area, but make sure that you don’t go overboard! Subtle printed upholstery and cute feature accessories such as this rope lamp really bring this room to life.
So don’t be bored with your bedroom. Spice it up a little and make it somewhere that you can relax.
